As
a non-profit organization, we depend on support from foundations,
grant funds, and contributions. The operations of the Montclair Inn are financed
entirely by contributing organizations and private benefactors, plus the modest
income from residents' fees. Contributed funds constitute a majority of our
operating costs - a fact that allows us to keep resident fees low.
Thanks to the generous support we have received, we have been able to restore and maintain our historic building, and provide a full and active lifestyle for our residents.
The generosity of
several foundations, banking institutions, community and government reinvestment
programs, civic organizations, and corporations, as well as our very important
individual benefactors has allowed us to provide our residents attractive
housing in a well-run facility at affordable rates. The restoration of the
Montclair Inn was underwritten by a substantial matching grant from the New
Jersey Historic Trust under the New Jersey Preservation Bond Program. Shown are
members of our Board of Directors at the check presentation for matching funds
from the New Jersey Historic Trust for the restoration of the
historic Montclair Inn.
